Your email and display name; the materials you upload and anything generated from them (topics, questions, flashcards, marking feedback); your answers and scores; and basic usage data (which folders/papers exist, when you last studied) needed to run the product. If you upload an audio recording (e.g. a lecture) as material, it's transcribed on ingestion; the original audio file is kept by default afterward, but you can turn that off in Settings so only the transcript is retained. Speaking an answer with "Say it" is different: your browser streams that audio directly to our transcription provider to turn it into text — our own servers only ever receive the resulting transcript, never the audio itself.
To generate and mark your study material, to show you your own progress, and to run the product generally (authentication, storage, spam/abuse prevention). We don't sell your data, and we don't use your materials to train any AI model — ours or a third party's.
Generating and marking content means sending the relevant excerpts of your material to an AI provider — either Quiro's own (OpenAI, under Quiro's account) or whichever provider you've connected yourself (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or a custom endpoint). We also rely on infrastructure providers to run Quiro at all: Supabase (database, file storage, authentication) and Cloudflare (hosting, edge compute). None of these providers get more of your data than the specific request requires, and none are permitted to use it to train their own models on our account's behalf.
If you turn on a paper's share link, its title and questions become visible to anyone with that link — and your score too, if you separately turn that on. Turning either off stops new visibility going forward. Someone who takes a shared paper needs their own Quiro account for that; their own answers and score are their own data, governed by this same policy for them.
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. We don't use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
For as long as your account exists. Deleting a file, folder, or your whole account removes the corresponding data from active use promptly; residual copies in backups age out on our normal backup rotation schedule.
You can access, export, correct, or delete your data at any time from Settings, or by asking us directly. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws like the GDPR or CCPA — contact us and we'll act on them.
Quiro isn't directed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.
We rely on our infrastructure providers' security controls (encryption in transit, access-controlled storage) and keep access to your data limited to what's needed to run the product. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you give us.
Our infrastructure providers may process data outside your own country. Where required, we rely on standard safeguards (like the EU's Standard Contractual Clauses) for those transfers — details to be finalized alongside legal review.
We may update this policy as Quiro changes. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date.
